Bordallo Pinheiro Cabbage Dinner Plate- Bordallo Pinheiro

Serve your favorite meals in style with this Cabbage dinner plate set from Bordallo Pinheiro. Made from earthenware, this plate features a rich green color and is designed to look like cabbage leaves. Handmade and painted by the artists at Bordallo Pinheiro in a Portuguese factory that dates back to 1884. Microwave and dishwasher safe.

Cabbage, in its rough and flat form, could be used as a metaphor for Portugal’s rustic ways, which Bordallo had so many times caricatured. This was a clever way to honour it, placing it on the bourgeois’ tables, where it had not been previously invited.
