Wild Goose Studio St. Patrick’s Cross- Wild Goose Bronzes

Oldest of the great Irish High Crosses, dating from the 7th century, this stands over 3 meters tall in Carndonagh, Co. Donegal. At the bottom of the carving, there are three pilgrims, in the middle is Christ with the four Evangelists, and at the top, there is a beautiful interlacing pattern, which is often used in Celtic art to suggest the ineffable. This is an original design carved by Wild Goose Studio’s co-founder Kathleen Smyth, which has a carefully polished pure bronze finish with a ceramic resin cold cast pouring.

Christ be with me, Christ be before me, Christ be behind me, Christ be within me. —from St Patrick’s Prayer.

Wild Goose Studio isa family-run business in Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland, that has been creating hand-crafted art pieces since 1970. The studio collaborates with Irish artists inspired by Irish history, mythology, and Celtic art.
