Spontaneous, rhythmic energy pulses from the drawings of Daria Hlazatova. Her works tap into a powerful feminine quality—somewhere between dreamy and earth-goddess punk. Swirling starscapes, piercing eyes, and lacy detail all surround a central figure. Hlazatova includes eyes in all her drawings to establish connection and communicate. “I never feel like the work is truly alive unless it has at least one eye in it,” she says. “It should look back at you.” Hlazatova reminds people to look and really see, both outside and inside.
